warmth2-jpg“In a conversation with an old dear friend, I was told that “Love brings out the worst behavior, the demons, the monster in a person.”

Maybe that is true; maybe that has to happen so that we could form a Sadhana (spiritual discipline) based on Love itself. Maybe this is the reason why the greatest sages say that Love completes life – just for this reason that it allows opportunities to see ourselves better. To see our demons, our not-so-pretty sides better, and still love ourselves through it. This is the probably the only way we can feel compassion for others.

And so I have my own philosophy on Love: Love completes us to the extent that we are willing to let it lead us towards self realization, to our deepest center of consciousness which we may not reach without daring to Love. Indeed, it is a huge gift to find someone whom we can Love with abandonment 🙂

And by the way, the vibration of Love has been scientifically proven to lengthen our DNA strand making us healthier, younger and smarter.”

Deep self awareness is not only being aware of the impact of our words and actions, but also of our deeper needs. Understanding how much of our needs are unmet, and finding ways to manage and balance them without harming others or ourselves. This truly is an art. But one of necessity.

As long as there are unmet needs, and we refuse to acknowledge them, we can never truly say we ‘love ‘ another. Until we discover what are these deeper needs, all ‘loves’ are mere projections. Projections of a partial/untrue satisfaction of the underlying needs, always leads to distress for yourself and the other person.
